Ken Hughes, MPA, ICD.D

Mr. Hughes joined the WZL board in February 2005. He is an Institute of Corporate Directors certified Director, ICD.D (August, 2005) and completed the ICD Corporate Governance College, Directors Education Program (June, 2005). He is the founder and president Alpine Financial Group, a network of five property and casualty insurance brokerages throughout Alberta. A member of the Institute for Corporate Directors, Mr. Hughes was a founding Director and CFO of Hi-Alta Capital Inc. 1996-2000 (now Western Financial Group. He is currently a Director of Dycor Technologies Ltd (Edmonton) and a Trustee of the Midwest Research Institute (Kansas City). Mr. Hughes holds a Master of Public Administration (MPA) degree from the John F. Kennedy School of Government at Harvard University. He was a Member of Parliament for the Alberta riding of Macleod from 1988 to 1993, and was appointed Parliamentary Assistant to the Deputy Prime Minister of Canada. In May, 2008, Mr. Hughes was appointed Chair of Alberta Health Services.
Dr. Harvie Andre, PhD, PC

A Director of WZL since 1994, Dr. Andre was appointed as Chairman of the Board on March 27, 2003 and assumed the role of President and CEO on January 1, 2005. Formerly a Professor of Chemical Engineering at the University of Calgary, he served as a Progressive Conservative MP for 21 years. He held several Federal Cabinet Minister Positions, including Minister of Supply and Services and Minister of National Defense, Minister of Consumer and Corporate Affairs, and Minister of Regional Industrial Expansion. Dr. Andre was also the Government House Leader at the House of Commons. Dr. Andre is on the board of other public and private companies.
Scott Clements, BSc, MPA

CEO, Fort McMurray Airport Authority
Mr. Clements became a director of WZL in September 2005. He is currently the CEO of the Fort McMurray Airport Authority. He had previously retired after ten years of service as the CEO of the Edmonton Regional Airports Authority. Mr. Clements had a long and distinguished career in the Canadian Air Force. An experienced fighter pilot, he served in many positions including as Commander of the Canadian Air Force with the rank of Lt. General. Mr. Clements holds a degree in engineering from the Royal Military Collage, a Masters of Public Administration from the University of Auburn, and an Honorary Doctor of Laws from Royal Roads University.
John Hodgson, CA
Chairman, Audit Committee
Mr. Hodgson holds a Bachelor of Commerce degree from McGill University and has been a chartered accountant since 1971. He retired as a Partner from PriceWaterhouseCoopers LLP in 2004 after 37 years of service in their Montreal, Halifax, Leeds U.K. and Calgary (1981 to 2004) offices.
Robert Hawkes, LLB

Mr. Hawkes was appointed a director of WZL in November 2008. He is a Partner with JSS Barristers, one of Alberta's largest litigation firms, and has been practicing in Calgary since 1994. Mr. Hawkes' area of practice is shareholder and securities litigation, restructuring and oil and gas litigation. Previously, Mr. Hawkes served with the Federal Government of Canada holding various positions including senior policy advisor and legislative assistant to the Federal Minister of Finance.
